Oils and manipulated photo collage. This piece unfolded before, during and after Hurricane Helene in Asheville North Carolina. First the woman reclined, then the bears came visiting again and I recognized my response to them represented my fear, so they made their way in. During the many days of darkness and absence of all utilities I studied it while lying down in my living room and realized I had become the woman. Later I chose to add the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains to remind myself why I had moved here.
