Belly Dancer – 36″ x 24″

Occasionally I decide to create something specific and then seek out photos to enrich and augment the story. In this case, I found an image of a belly dancer and, after drawing her out on the canvas I began with a photo of a plowed field in perspective. It is used as the skirt and the bra straps. Other photos which found their place are red leaves in my driveway and a winding road (her scarf), meditation cylinders (her sleeves), church windows (bra), rocks falling over water (hair) ancient jewelry, money, and my personal favorite, The Coliseum of Rome wrapped around her bottom.
